Dietitians specialise in the field of dietetics and nutrition. They impart knowledge and practical strategies that guide patients towards healthier eating habits and better nutritional well-being. Dietitians educate and support patients and their families to help them better manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, kidney diseases and obesity. They also develop nutrition care plans for patients who have specific feeding requirements such as feeding orally, via a feeding tube or directly to the bloodstream.​​

How Do I Become a Dietitian?

You will require the following qualifications:
  • ​Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition, or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and a postgraduate diploma in Dietetics, or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science (majoring in Physiology and Biochemistry) and Master’s Degree in Dietetics
The institutions where you can attain the qualifications are:
  • ​Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)
  • Recognised overseas institutions
