On behalf of the NHG MuSIC Workgroup and the organising committee, it is with great pleasure to announce that the first NHG Musculoskeletal Day 2024 will be held on 23 March 2024.
With the theme "Healthier SG and Musculoskeletal Health: Staying Active, Staying Mobile", this inaugural event aims to provide platforms for various speakers and stakeholders of different perspectives from policymakers, clinicians, community, research, and innovation to come together. The focus is to promote thought-provoking discussions and debate on how musculoskeletal health can move from an episodic, reactive approach towards a population health, chronic disease-centric approach in line with Healthier SG, supported by the latest advances in clinical care and technology.
Musculoskeletal conditions are currently the top cause of disability both in Singapore and around the world, leading to pain, impaired function, reduced productivity, and poor quality of life. In line with Healthier SG, there is an urgent need to transform the model of care of musculoskeletal conditions towards an integrated population health approach focusing on prevention across the entire healthcare continuum from community to primary to tertiary care in alignment with the National OneRehab framework.
