Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC)
SMBC’s contribution towards NHG Fund supports COVID-19 research projects by the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), an NHG institution.
The donation is part of SMBC Asia Pacific Division’s “SMBC Together with You Fund” that was launched as an immediate response to provide support to people and businesses in the region during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Chow Ying Hoong, Co-Head of SMBC Asia Pacific Division, highlighted SMBC’s efforts in giving back to society: “We hope to contribute to the community in a positive manner, and through the fund, make a difference to the lives of people who have been hit by the crisis.”
SMBC’s contribution will help protect lives as our researchers work towards better understanding COVID-19 transmission and the long-term effects of infection.
