On 3 January 2018, the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and Johns Hopkins Medicine International (JHI) announced the formation of the new NHG-Johns Hopkins Singapore Institute. The Institute represents a new phase of the 20-year partnership between NHG and JHI, which started with the Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre (JHSIMC). The development also includes the transition of oncology services and specialised staff from JHSMIC to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), which took effect from 1 November 2017.

The NHG-Johns Hopkins Singapore Institute will oversee joint research collaborations, development of new capabilities in medical oncology and other disciplines, as well as knowledge-sharing projects with Johns Hopkins in the United States. The venture will also integrate care for patients and focus on Singapore’s population health needs.
