Adj A/Prof Teo is a Senior Consultant
Surgeon and Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. His clinical interests
include trauma/acute care surgery and colorectal surgery.
He is the Director of the Trauma Service and Trauma Training Centre of Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
His roles include co-ordinating multi-disciplinary trauma care, post-graduate
medical education in trauma/acute care and trauma policy/audit.
In June 2019, he was
appointed Medical Director, Central Region Trauma Services. This gave him the
opportunity to lead and collaborate with pre-hospital services and 5 hospitals
to manage a co-ordinated regional trauma system in the central part of
Singapore. Providing co-ordinated and collaborative trauma care for 2.8 million
residents. He is also the current Chair of the Central Region (SIngapore) Trauma Committee.
He did his Trauma Fellowship
in McGill University Health Centre, Montreal, Canada, sharing expertise and
knowledge on trauma care and acute care surgery. He was also involved in
trauma audits, trauma regional systems and trauma outreach programs in Quebec
Province, Canada.
In the 2006 Central Java
Earthquake, he led a combined military and civilian surgical team to aid in the
disaster. This highlights his continued interest and active involvement in
managing mass casualties and humanitarian disasters in Singapore and the region.

Hospital (TTSH) is the flagship hospital of the National Healthcare Group and

Singapore’s largest purpose-built innovation centre for healthcare - the Ng
Teng Fong Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) and its Co-Learning Network of
37 local and international partners.
